Production has initiated in factories in North America, Europe, and Asia, marking a significant milestone for Tesla’s expansion and its commitment to bringing updated features to its best-selling electric SUV.
Deliveries are set to begin in March for China, which was the first market to see the new Model Y, followed by other regions in the Asia-Pacific like Australia, where customers can expect to receive their vehicles from May 2025. In Europe, particularly from Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin, the first Juniper unit has already rolled off the production line, signaling that deliveries are imminent.
For the U.S., while there’s no official announcement yet, posts on social platforms suggest that significant inventory discounts on existing models indicate an imminent launch, possibly aligning with the global rollout strategy for a March start.

The centerpiece of the cabin remains the large 15.4-inch center screen, now capable of tilting for optimal viewing angles and featuring a higher resolution for clearer visuals. A new 8-inch screen for rear passengers allows control over climate settings and entertainment options, adding convenience for those seated in the back.
Performance-wise, while exact figures for North America and Europe are yet to be detailed, in China, the base single-motor rear-wheel-drive version now offers 295 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 5.3 seconds, a noticeable improvement over the previous model. There’s speculation about a new battery pack that could push the range closer to 400 miles, although official figures are still awaited.
These updates come at a time when Tesla is facing increased competition in the electric vehicle market but also when it’s looking to reinvigorate interest in its vehicles with fresh design and technological improvements.
The Model Y has been a pivotal model for Tesla, being the world’s best-selling car in 2023, and with these enhancements, Tesla aims to maintain its lead in the rapidly evolving EV landscape.
