Police in Kampala are looking for Shakib Cham Lutaaya, the husband of socialite Zari Hassan, after a violent robbery at Chezz Boss Mutoto Bar in Munyonyo on December 27, 2025.
According to reports, a group of men stormed the bar, beat up patrons, and stole mobile phones and other valuables. Police say Shakib Cham is among the suspects linked to the attack. Cases of assault and robbery were recorded at Kabalagala Police Station, and Shakib has been summoned to help with investigations.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed that Shakib is wanted for questioning. Shakib himself admitted he saw the summons in the media but had not yet reported to police.
The case has attracted wide attention because of Shakib’s marriage to Zari Hassan, one of East Africa’s most famous socialites. Police investigations are still ongoing.
