Abedi Bwanika confronted Bobi Wine at a burial ceremony in Masaka, commemorating the late Paskari Sekasamba. Abedi accused Bobi Wine of what he termed ‘eliminating leaders’ such as Mathias Mpuuga.

He also claimed that the so-called NUP foot soldiers have been abusing him and his colleague, Mathias Mpuuga, online.

He also requested Mpuuga’s resignation as Commissioner of Parliament after it was discovered that Mpuuga and three other opposition members of parliament had unlawfully awarded themselves 1.7 billion Ugandan shillings of taxpayers’ money.

Abedi Bwanika has defended Mathias Mpuuga on several occasions online. The burial provided an opportunity for him to express his views and disappointment regarding the treatment of himself and his colleague.

In response, Bobi Wine stated that he holds Mathias Mpuuga in high regard, having appointed him to all his positions in parliament. He also mentioned appointing Abedi Bwanika to certain committees and emphasized that he harbors no personal grudge against either of them.

He acknowledged forgiving them personally but insisted that they must address the ‘elephant in the room,’ set aside their petty misunderstandings, and focus on challenging President Museveni.
