The Uganda Police have arrested a phone cracker who has openly boasted on social media about unlocking stolen phones.
The unnamed suspect uploaded a video on TikTok, flaunting his ability to crack iPhones, Tecno, and Infinix phones, claiming it takes him mere seconds to change their serial numbers, rendering them irrecoverable by the previous owners.
This act caught the attention of Jim Spire, a professor at Makerere University, who shared the phone cracker’s video on his social media account and tagged the Uganda Police.
Within approximately 30 minutes, the police responded affirmatively, confirming the detention of the individual in question.
They reported that the suspect is currently held at the Kampala Metropolitan Police Station and assured the public that further updates would be provided in due course.
