Fans of Rema Namakula Sebunya, a renowned singer, have a reason to celebrate as she has confirmed that she will hold her next concert in 2024.
The concert, titled “Melodies of Love”, will take place on the 23rd of February 2024 at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
Rema shared the news on social media on Thursday afternoon, expressing her excitement and inviting her followers to attend the show. She wrote:
“DATE AND VENUE CONFIRMED. Ladies and gentlemen our Concert is here. It’s been long since I last had a concert. I’m super excited. 23rd February 2024, Sheraton Hotel Kampala, Melodies of love.”
However, Rema’s concert date has raised some eyebrows as it coincides with a week before the debut concert of Lydia Jazmine, another popular singer.
The two artists have been rumored to have a history of tension, stemming from their alleged involvement with Eddy Kenzo, Rema’s ex-husband. Rema and Kenzo divorced in 2019 after a six-year marriage.
According to Rema’s cousin DJ Vee, Jazmine was one of the reasons why Rema and Kenzo broke up, as she claimed that Jazmine slept with Kenzo while Rema was on tour. Jazmine denied the accusations, but the damage was done.
The feud between Rema and Jazmine intensified when Jazmine reportedly fell out with Carol Nantongo, another singer, over the same man, who was speculated to be Kenzo. DJ Vee confirmed Kenzo’s involvement, adding more fuel to the fire.
It is not clear if Rema’s concert timing is a deliberate move to sabotage Jazmine’s concert, which is scheduled for 1st March 2024.
The two singers have not commented on their relationship or their concert dates. However, the media and the fans are likely to pay attention to the drama, which could boost the publicity for both shows.
