Eddy Kenzo: The Media Doesn’t Know Me, They Only Spread Lies

Eddy Kenzo, one of the most popular and successful musicians in Uganda, has expressed his concern and grief about the Ugandan media while talking to Spark TV’s Ruth Kalibala in an interview.

He said that the media always focuses on the negative aspects of his life and career, and never appreciates his achievements and contributions to the music industry.

He recalled some of the painful moments he had to endure because of the media’s insensitivity and malice. He said that when he lost his brother, he was busy grieving, but a journalist confronted him asking and asserting that he could be knowing what led to his brother’s death. He also said that when one of the ghetto kids died, the media blamed him for the tragedy.

He said that many Ugandans don’t know him as a person, they are always asking about negative topics like his exes, they don’t ask to know him as a person or the hustles he goes through to produce the good music or his inspiration.

He said that many journalists spread lies and rumors about him after being bribed with 500k or 1m, saying that whatever he has done and achieved is based on illuminati.

He said that this makes him hide from the media and avoid doing interviews, because he feels hurt and disrespected.

He said that he has the right not to answer questions that make him cringe or not comfortable answering. He appealed to the media to be more professional and ethical, and to respect his privacy and dignity.

He also thanked his fans and supporters for their love and loyalty, and promised to continue making good music for them. He said that he is proud of his achievements and awards, such as the BET Award. He said that he is not afraid of challenges and competition, and that he is ready to take his music to the next level.
