Charles Olim, better known as Sipapa, a socialite and music promoter, was returned to Luzira prison after his case hearing was adjourned on Monday. Sipapa is facing charges of attempted murder, robbery, and illegal possession of firearms.

Sipapa’s lawyer, Geoffrey Turyamusiima, said that they had expected the case to be transferred to the High Court and that they were confident of winning the case. He said that Sipapa was innocent and that the charges against him were fabricated.

However, the government prosecutor said that he was not ready to proceed with the case, as he had some documents that were not photocopied and needed to gather more evidence for his file. He asked the judge to grant him more time to prepare his case.

The judge agreed to the prosecutor’s request and postponed the case to November 20, 2023. He ordered that Sipapa be remanded in Luzira prison until then.

Sipapa has been in custody for over a year, and his close associates have been calling for his release. They claim that his case has been delayed and twisted by the authorities.
