After more than 10 years of being banned from the UK, singer and politician Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, is overjoyed to have the ban lifted.

The ban was imposed in 2014 due to his homophobic lyrics that incited hatred against the LGBT community.

Bobi Wine’s legal team, together with his loyal NUP/People Power supporters in the UK diaspora, worked tirelessly to appeal for the reversal of the ban.

They argued that it was unfair to allow President Museveni, who oppresses the Ugandan people, to enter the UK while denying access to Bobi Wine, who fights for freedom and democracy in Uganda.
