The concert was not only a showcase of Azawi’s musical talent, but also a celebration of her journey and her roots. The title of the album, ‘Sankofa’, is a word from the Akan language of Ghana, which means “go back and get it”. It reflects Azawi’s desire to reconnect with her past and draw inspiration from her experiences.
