Lilian Mbabazi, a former Blu*3 singer, has dismissed the rumors that she was supporting Sheebah Karungi vocally during her musical showdown with Cindy Sanyu on Friday 15th September 2023.
The battle, which took place at Kololo Independence Grounds, was one of the most anticipated events in the entertainment industry.
The rumors were started by Noordin Ntege, a journalist from Bukedde TV, who claimed that Mbabazi was one of the backup vocalists for Sheebah. He also said that Kaweesi from Coca-Cola Rated Next was on Sheebah’s side.
He alleged that this was a strategy by the UNMF to balance the vocal abilities of both artists and prevent Sheebah from being overshadowed by Cindy.
“They had to balance it. Sheebah is from the federation and it was not a crime to be backed by Lilian,” Ntege said on Sanyuka TV.
However, Mbabazi has refuted the allegations and said that she was not involved in any vocal backing for either artist. She was backstage at the concert, but she did not sing for anyone.
She responded to Ntege’s tweet with a question, “Lwaki kulimba abantu?” which means “Why are you lying to the people?”
Mbabazi’s fellow Blu*3 member Jackie Chandiru also laughed off the rumors and called them hilarious. She tweeted, “Jesus Christ, this is hilarious.”
It is worth noting that Cindy is also a former Blu*3 member and she is accused of causing the breakup of the group.
