Sheebah Karungi, a popular Ugandan singer and dancer, can now breathe a sigh of relief after her stolen iPhone was recovered by Prynce Okuyo Atiku, the husband of fellow singer Cindy Sanyu.
Sheebah had lost her phone during a performance in Arua, where a reveller snatched it from her and ran away. A video of Sheebah pleading for her phone to be returned went viral on social media.
Prynce Okuyo Atiku, who is also a movie actor, was in Arua at the time and saw the video on social media. He contacted Exclusive Biz and expressed his concern and sympathy for Sheebah. He also said that he was trying to trace the phone and was confident that he would find it.
He later informed Mzikii.com that he had located the person who had the phone and that he was going to meet him on Saturday evening at around 7:40 PM.
He also shared a video on his Instagram account, where he apologized to Sheebah, her team and her fans for the incident and promised to do his best to recover the phone.
With the help of Manager Simple, Kim Nas, and Jesse, Prynce managed to get the phone back from the thief and showed it in another video that he posted on his Instagram account.
He thanked everyone who helped him in the process and condemned the act of stealing from visitors. He said that it was not the best way to welcome guests to Arua.
He also said that he would soon hand over the phone to Sheebah and hoped that she would forgive him and his people for what happened.
