The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has warned the public about the security risks of attending the tour rallies of the opposition presidential candidate, Bobi Wine.

The UPDF spokesperson, Felix Kulayigye, said that the crowds that gather at the rallies are vulnerable to attacks and violence.

Kulayigye made the statement in an interview with KFM, a local radio station. He said that the UPDF cannot guarantee the safety of those who attend the rallies, and that they should be concerned about their own security.

He also said that some people may accuse the UPDF of being politically motivated, but that will not stop them from issuing the warning.

He has been holding tour rallies across the country on a mobilization tour and opening NUP Offices.

Bobi Wine has not yet responded to the UPDF’s warning, but he has previously accused the security forces of being biased and working for Museveni. He has also vowed to continue with his tour rallies despite the challenges and threats.
