The singer Eddy Kenzo has shown his appreciation and support for the legendary Kadongo Kamu musicians Lord Fred Sebata and Harriet Sanyu by promising to stage a live concert for them at Kampala Serena Hotel.
The concert will be a celebration of their 40 years in the industry.
Eddy Kenzo made this pledge on Tuesday at Allure Hotel and Suites in Mutundwe, where he attended the weekly Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) Jam Session.
He was impressed by the performance of Lord Fred Sebata and Harriet Sanyu, who received a standing ovation and thunderous applause from the audience.
He also gifted them with UGX 5 million in cash, and praised them for their talent and experience. He said that they are lyrically, instrumentally, and vocally gifted artists, and that they deserve to be honored and recognized.
Lord Fred Sebata and Harriet Sanyu are renowned Kadongo Kamu singers who have been in the music scene since the early 1980s. They have produced several hit songs and albums, and have influenced many other artists in the genre.
Eddy Kenzo said that he will soon announce the date and details of the concert, and that he hopes that it will be a sold-out event.
He said that he wants to give them a chance to perform on the same stage for a full house, and to share their music with their fans.
