Alien Skin, a fast-rising Ugandan singer, has reportedly turned down a scholarship offer from Kampala Parents’ School for his bodyguard and protégé Champion Ogudo.

The scholarship was meant to help Ogudo, to access quality education and pursue his dreams.

The offer was initiated by MC Kats, a popular Ugandan media personality and music analyst, who is a friend of Alien Skin.

MC Kats said he was excited when he learned about the scholarship and called Alien Skin to tell him the news.

“I told him this is an opportunity for that kid to study with rich kids,” said MC Kats.

However, Alien Skin’s reaction was not what MC Kats expected. Alien Skin asked him if the school was going to pay him for accepting the scholarship, but MC Kats told him he wasn’t going to be paid and the only offer was the scholarship to help Champion Ogudo.

According to MC Kats, Alien Skin then demanded to meet the school management at his record label Fangone Forest.

MC Kats said he called Dr. Lawrence Muganga, the vice chancellor of Victoria University, which is also owned by Sudhir Ruparelia, the owner of Kampala Parents’ School, to inquire if that was possible.

Dr. Muganga told him it was not possible, as such functions are always attended by Ruparelia himself and it would also be bad optics for the business.

MC Kats said he felt like Alien Skin was trying to create the impression that he was the one helping people who were offering Ogudo a scholarship.

He said there were arguments that the school was going to benefit from the publicity that comes with Ogudo and Skin who are now celebrities.

MC Kats said he was shocked when Alien Skin asked him if there was any president that had ever studied at Kampala Parents’ School.

He said Ogudo wouldn’t be the first celebrity kid to win a scholarship, as the same school is currently educating Fresh Kid and another rapper Felista is also studying at a school owned by a former MP.

MC Kats said he was disappointed by Alien Skin’s attitude and urged him to reconsider his decision for the sake of Ogudo’s future.

He said he hoped Alien Skin would realize that education is important and that he should not deny Ogudo a chance to learn from one of the best schools in Uganda.

The scholarship offer from Kampala Parents’ School came after Alien Skin staged a successful music concert dubbed Sitya Danger on Friday, June 9 at Freedom City Mall.

The concert was announced in less than a week and attracted a huge crowd of fans who came to support Alien Skin and his music.

Alien Skin is known for his songs such as Tonkaka, Tulabise, Lockdown, Mpalana, and Olimukulu.
