Nkwacho festival was a musical event that was supposed to feature Alien Skin, a popular Ugandan. The festival was planned to take place on August 27, 2023, at Buloba Forest Park on Mityana Road.
However, the festival was canceled due to a disagreement between Alien Skin and promoter Abtex.
According to Alien Skin, real name Patrick Mulwana, he canceled the festival because Abtex did not pay him the full amount as per the contract and did not provide adequate security and facilities for the event.
He also accused Abtex of hijacking his plans to organize his own Nkwacho festival in Lubiri-Mengo and trying to sabotage his career.
Abtex, on the other hand, claimed that Alien Skin breached the contract by failing to show up for rehearsals and demanding more money than what was agreed upon.
He also said that Alien Skin was arrogant and disrespectful to other artists and promoters. He warned Alien Skin that he had plunged many promoters into debt with his arrogance and that they would unite and make him pay back the hard way.
The cancellation of Nkwacho festival disappointed many fans who were looking forward to seeing their favorite artists perform live.
Some fans expressed their anger and frustration on social media, while others called for peace and dialogue between Abtex and Alien Skin.
