Ugandan singer Jose Chameleone, also known as Joseph Mayanja, has expressed his gratitude to his fans worldwide for the unwavering love and support they showed him during his lowest point.
The singer is currently in the USA as he recuperates from recent health complications that saw him undergo emergency surgery.
Chameleone, who is one of the most celebrated artists in Uganda, had been hospitalized in the US following complications from a stomach ailment.
His father, Gerald Mayanja, confirmed the news to Bukedde TV, saying that his son had been suffering from stomach issues for several months.
The singer’s brother, Humphrey Mayanja, was also admitted in the same hospital with a similar condition.
The father blamed their sons’ illness on hate-filled Ugandans, whom he said had nothing but ill feelings towards his family.
However, Chameleone has now been discharged from the hospital and is recovering well. In a video he shared on his social media platforms, the singer tearfully thanked his fans for their prayers and encouragement during his difficult time.
He said that he was overwhelmed by the love and solidarity he received from people across the world.
“I want to thank everyone who has been praying for me. I want to thank everyone who has been sending me messages of love and support.
I want to thank everyone who has been standing with me in this hard time. I am so grateful and humbled by your love,” Chameleone said.
He also thanked his family, friends, and fellow artists for being there for him and assured them that he will be back soon with more music and entertainment. He said that he is feeling much better and stronger than before.
“I am recovering well and I am feeling good. I am looking forward to coming back home and giving you more music and more entertainment. I love you all and God bless you,” Chameleone said.
