Eddy Kenzo demands an apology from Vision Group

The president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), Eddy Kenzo, has threatened to sue Vision Group, a media outlet, for publishing false, malicious, and unresearched articles about him and the federation.

He claims that the media outlet has violated journalistic ethics and standards, and has caused depression to many artists.

In a letter posted on his social media platforms, Eddy Kenzo demanded a public apology from Vision Group, or else he will take legal action against them and ask the court to stop them from playing their music and music videos.

He also accused the media outlet of losing its readership and the dwindling sales of their paper.

Eddy Kenzo is one of Uganda’s celebrated artists who has represented his country in all continents.

He was elected as the interim president of the UNMF in May 2023, along with vice presidents Sheebah Karungi, Pallaso, and Juliana Kanyomozi.

The federation aims to unite musicians and promote their interests in Uganda by bringing together all associations in the industry under one umbrella.

The Prime Minister of Uganda, Robinah Nabbanja, has promised to support the newly formed federation and fight for the rights of artists.

She also committed that the government will invest resources in the federation and foster the growth and success of the Ugandan music industry.

Vision Group has not yet responded to Eddy Kenzo’s letter or his allegations.
