Cindy Sanyu, the singer and president of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), has said that she does not mind whether Sheebah Karungi takes a bigger position or not in the newly formed Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF).
Cindy Sanyu stated, “I don’t mind whether Sheebah takes a bigger position or not. What I care about are the goals of the Uganda Musicians Association [UMA], which I lead as president.”
She added that she is all ears and eyes on what the UNMF is going to do for the music industry.
The UNMF was launched on May 5, 2023, with the aim of uniting musicians and promoting their interests in Uganda by bringing together all associations in the industry under one umbrella.
The UNMF is led by Eddy Kenzo (president), who is Cindy’s friend and Sheebah Karungi (first vice president), who is Cindy’s nemesis.
Sheebah Karungi and Cindy Sanyu have been at loggerheads for several years, with Cindy Sanyu accusing Sheebah Karungi of lacking talent and Sheebah Karungi dismissing Cindy Sanyu as jealous of her success.
