Bobi Wine, a popular Ugandan musician, and opposition leader has spoken out against the government and its treatment of artists at the burial of Kato Lubwama, a veteran comedian and politician who died on Wednesday after a long battle with diabetes.
Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, said that he does not get time to speak to his fellow artists, most of whom do not even want to come near him simply because they fear the government to see them with him.
“But you can go to Silver Kyangulanyi, Hilderman, John Segawa. They can help you to understand the copyright law.” He said.
He also paid tribute to Kato Lubwama, describing him as a mentor, friend and inspiration to many in the entertainment industry.
He said that Kato Lubwama was a fearless and outspoken leader who always stood for the truth and justice.
