The Kenyan police are searching for Don Solomon, the former boyfriend of NBS Television presenter Zahara Toto, who is accused of scamming several companies in Kenya through the issuance of bad checks. According to police reports, Solomon allegedly defrauded these companies of millions of dollars in March 2023 before fleeing the country.
The Kenyan authorities have described Solomon as an international serial fraudster who has been engaging in similar illegal activities in different countries, including Australia and Uganda, for several years. In Uganda, he reportedly gifted a stolen car to his ex-girlfriend Zahara Toto, although he was not charged in connection with the case.
In a statement released by the Kenyan police, Solomon, who goes by various names such as Mukisa Okello, Tony Taban Suleiman Malish, Yee, and Big Papa, is wanted for depositing a bad check of Sh599,950 in favor of Naivas Limited and fraudulently obtaining 10 television sets worth 55″ from Naivas Mwembe Tayari branch. He is also accused of fraudulently obtaining steel rods worth Sh842,000 from Bayfair Hardware at Bombolulu in Mombasa using a bad check of the same amount.
Solomon has been arraigned at Milimani Law Courts for forgery and being in the country illegally. He has also been accused of defrauding top 5-star hotels in the city by obtaining services and sneaking out without paying. Furthermore, he has broken the hearts of several women in the city who have fallen for his fake lifestyle.
The Kenyan police have urged anyone with information on Solomon’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station. The suspect is also accused of fraud and related offenses at various banks in Melbourne.
