Biggie Events Jailed Over UGX 70M Debt, Faces Six Months in Luzira

Events promoter Biggie Events has once again found herself in hot water, this time landing behind bars over a UGX 70 million debt owed to Tumusiime David Amooti. This is not her first money-related scandal — she has previously been accused of failing to pay service providers and musicians after shows.

According to a court order, Biggie was found guilty of failing to pay the debt and was committed to Luzira Prison for six months or until the full amount is cleared.

The court’s ruling, signed by the Court Registrar, instructed the Officer in Charge of Luzira Prison to keep her in custody until she settles the debt and covers all court-related costs.

“The respondent has neither paid the amount due nor shown cause why payment has not been made,” the order reads. “You are therefore commanded to take and receive the said judgment debtor into civil prison at Luzira for a period not exceeding six months or until the amount is paid in full.”

The promoter’s troubles continue to raise eyebrows in the entertainment industry, where she was once known for organizing big concerts. Now, her name is making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
