Desire Luzinda established the Desire Luzinda Foundation immediately after she purportedly became a born-again Christian.

Soon after she attempted to raise money through the American church she attends, but was rejected since she is not married.

In order for her to receive the much-needed funding for her foundation, Church leaders instructed her to first get married to a born-again Christian.
